USUBC Participates in Meeting with President Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska and Ukrainian Community Leaders During UNGA Week

On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Ukrainian Institute of America hosted a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska, bringing together leaders of the Ukrainian community in the United States. Participants included USUBC members and partners such as People of Ukraine Foundation, Razom for Ukraine, United Help Ukraine, Ukrainian Development Company, American University Kyiv, Woskob Family Foundation, Ukraine Global Scholars, Ukraine House, Nova Ukraine, along with other major humanitarian, development, and civic society organizations. The discussion was moderated by Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States Olga Stefanishyna.

Separately, USUBC Executive Director Nadiia Khomaziuk participated in a special event, “Ukrainian Studies Now: Building Global Alliances,” organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States and hosted by the Ukrainian Institute of America. Dedicated to the first anniversary of the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies, an initiative of the First Lady Olena Zelenska, the event featured a panel discussion, “How Academic Diplomacy Changes Global Perceptions of Ukraine,” with leading scholars and experts from the United States, UK, and Ukraine.
