USUBC Congratulates Ambassador Kurt Volker on His New Role at DTEK

Ukraine’s energy sector continues to draw high-level international expertise as the country moves from resilience to recovery. Ambassador Kurt Volker, former U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations, former U.S. Ambassador to NATO, and Senior Advisor to USUBC, has been appointed to the Advisory Council at DTEK – both longstanding members of USUBC. In this role, Ambassador Volker will provide strategic guidance on energy security, reconstruction investment, and Ukraine’s closer integration with Europe.

With some 35 years of experience across government, academic, and private-sector roles in transatlantic security and diplomacy, Ambassador Volker’s appointment comes as DTEK accelerates investment in Ukraine’s energy system. He joins an Advisory Council chaired by Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt and comprising leading policymakers, economists, and industry experts, including Dr. Anders Åslund, Kuninori Matsuda, Miriam Maes, Pascal Lamy, and Pierre Heilbronn, all working to align Ukraine’s energy future with international markets and European integration.
