On 22 April, Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers approved the Programme for the Development of Biomethane Production until 2035, targeting over 2.1 billion cubic metres of annual production capacity and more than EUR 500 million in investment by 2030 — leveraging the country’s existing gas transmission infrastructure and direct connections to EU member states. CMS notes that realising these targets will depend on further regulatory changes, access to EU traceability and certification systems, and the development of bankable support instruments.
