A new agreement signed on May 21 by Ukrainian First Deputy Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Italian Ambassador Carlo Formosa, and the Director of the Energy Community Secretariat channels a fresh EUR 10 million contribution from Italy’s Ukraine Energy Support Fund directly to DTEK, Ukraine’s largest private energy investor. The funds will be used to procure heavy vehicles and specialised machinery from Italian manufacturers, equipping DTEK’s field crews who work around the clock to repair grid networks and energy facilities damaged by Russia’s ongoing strikes. Italy’s total commitment to Ukraine’s energy sector now exceeds EUR 140 million, cementing its position as one of the country’s most consistent international partners in energy recovery.
