April 30, 2025
Washington, D.C.

Irina participated in the panel entitled: “Mobilizing Private Capital for Ukraine Recovery and Reconstruction.” The panel followed brilliant keynote remarks delivered by Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova, setting the tone and addressing many issues, including Ukraine’s economic resilience and the role of the U.S. private sector in recovery, that were discussed in greater detail during the panel. Read Ambassador Markarova’s post in social media.

The panel discussion, moderated by Romina Bandura (Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), included key experts and industry leaders: USUBC Senior Advisor Natalie Jaresko (EY-Parthenon), Oskar Lewnowski (Orion Resource Partners), and Matt Simpson (Black Iron), who shared insights on Ukraine’s rebuilding efforts and the factors driving economic recovery. Irina remarked that even during wartime, Ukraine has been implementing reforms to improve the business environment and advance toward EU membership. She also discussed expectations of the private sector for the pending U.S.-Ukraine bilateral critical minerals deal, which has broadened to include other natural resources and infrastructure, and provides for the establishment of the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund.
