General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) has been awarded a contract to deliver missile warning, tracking, and defense payloads for Lockheed Martin’s Tracking Layer Tranche 3 program — part of the Space Development Agency’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture designed to expand the nation’s space-based missile detection and targeting capabilities. The advanced infrared sensor systems incorporate on-orbit mission data processing and compact EO/IR technologies built for rapid production and high reliability, with particular emphasis on tracking hypersonic threats. The TRKT3 constellation will provide persistent global coverage and low-latency missile detection to enable fire control quality tracks for warfighter engagements.
