A Memorial Day commemoration marking the sacrifice of American volunteers who fought and died for Ukraine was held at the Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv, bringing together Ukrainian government representatives, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and several non-governmental organizations. CFC Big Ideas played a central coordinating role — uniting organizers, partners, and media to bring the event to life — alongside collaborators including RTW Foundation, Hrabar Foundation, and the Sadyba Veteraniv project, each contributing creative memorial initiatives, veteran rehabilitation programs, and psychological support for servicemembers. The event, co-organized by the “Free and Capable” Charitable Foundation, transformed collective grief into action, honoring those whose hearts stopped so that others could continue beating.
