Vitalii Koval was appointed Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine in September 2024. Prior to this role, he served as the Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine (2023–2024) and the Head of the Rivne Regional State Administration (2019–2023). Earlier in his career, he managed enterprises in the agricultural, transport, and construction sectors, and worked in the banking industry.
He holds a Master’s degree in banking from the Ternopil Academy of National Economy (2003), an MBA from the Lviv Business School of UCU (2017), and is an alumnus of the Aspen Institute Kyiv (2021). In addition to his government work, he is active in sports leadership as a Member of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, First Vice President of the Greco-Roman Wrestling Federation of Ukraine, and Vice President of the Ukrainian Wrestling Association.
