Marlena Hurley

Ms. Hurley is Deputy Vice President for political risk insurance and reinsurance with the US International Development Finance Corporation.  Her portfolio includes investments worldwide across all sectors including energy and infrastructure.  She previously served as managing director for political risk and reinsurance at DFC and with its predecessor Overseas Private Investment Corporation. She worked for OPIC Insurance in the mid-1990s and then moved to Russia and Hungary to work in investment firms and funds in the natural resources and financial services industries, returning to OPIC in early 2015.  From 2001 to 2005 she served as Vice President of The U.S.-Russia Investment Fund and, as chief operations officer, chaired the internal investment review committee. 

Ms. Hurley holds an MBA in International Business from the George Washington University, an M.A. in Russian Studies from the University of Graz, Austria, and a Certificate in Biofuels Processing from UC San Diego. She has lived and worked in Russia, Indonesia, and Hungary, is a native German speaker and speaks fluent Russian and French.
