The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council is delighted to share the success of the recent in-person members’ meeting with the World Food Programme Ukraine (WFP), held on May 22 in Kyiv. This significant event brought together key speakers, including Marianne Ward, WFP Ukraine Country Director ad interim, Stefano Peveri, Head of Supply Chain at the UN World Food Programme Ukraine, and Michela Carucci, Food Systems and Livelihoods Officer at WFP.
The meeting served as a crucial platform for discussing and collaborating on critical issues impacting Ukraine’s agricultural and food security landscape. Topics included WFP’s efforts in revitalizing Ukraine’s agricultural sector, their demining initiatives in agricultural areas, and procurement opportunities for agricultural businesses.
USUBC thanks our member American University Kyiv and especially its Vice President Oleksii Shershnov for their support and contributions to this event. This meeting underscored the importance of continued collaboration between USUBC members and WFP to ensure sustained agricultural production and food security in Ukraine.
