Dinner with Abt Global | Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024

June 14, 2024
Berlin, Germany

The U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), in partnership with Abt Global, co-hosted a high-level, off-the-record, invitation-only dinner for 30 representatives and leaders as part of the side events at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2024. This event took place in Berlin, featuring an incredible discussion moderated by Honorary Ambassador Alexander Scherba. Attendees included representatives from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, USAID Ukraine – USAID Україна, Esper Bionics, Superhumans Center, The World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and others.

Olexander Scherba, a Ukrainian diplomat, author, and Ambassador-at-large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, who served as Ambassador to Austria from 2014 to 2021, expertly guided the conversation. His extensive experience working on Ukrainian-European relations enriched the dialogue.

The discussion highlighted the resilience of Ukrainian and international businesses and their collaborative efforts with international organizations to support recovery and reconstruction. Energy and access to skilled personnel were repeatedly mentioned as the primary constraints. Despite these challenges, the long-term commitment and optimism of the participants were consistently emphasized.

We’re proud to be part of the support being provided and look forward to wider partnerships to work on inclusive recovery and reconstruction in Ukraine.
