On 10 September 2025, the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) was proud to partner with the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States in celebrating the 34th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence. The reception was hosted in the beautiful Ukraine House in Washington, D.C., and brought together more than 500 distinguished guests — Members of Congress; Muriel Bowser, Mayor of Washington, DC; Odile Renaud-Basso, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD); Conor Coleman, Head of Investments at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC); diplomats, business leaders, and friends of Ukraine.
USUBC Chair of the Executive Committee, Eric Luhmann (Amsted Rail Company), spoke on behalf of USUBC, reflecting on Ukraine’s resilience and on the 30-year history of our Council. He reminded us that “the purpose, urgency, and necessity of advancing the U.S.–Ukraine commercial, trade, and investment relationship cannot be understated today.”
A very special moment of the evening was the recognition of Ambassador Oksana Markarova. USUBC presented her with a Distinguished Service Award, honoring her extraordinary leadership, active U.S. private sector engagement, supporting our members, and the deep partnership we have enjoyed with her and the Embassy team.
We are especially grateful to our members whose generous contributions made this celebration possible:
SEKO Logistics, Northrop Grumman, Logistics Plus Inc., Winner Automotive Group, RTX, Hill International, Inc., Teledyne FLIR, Mastercard, Bayer, Westinghouse Electric Company, Cargill, Eric & Oksana Luhmann, and Aero Precision.
As USUBC approaches its own 30th anniversary this October, your support strengthens not only USUBC but also contributes to building stronger business, trade and investment ties between the United States and Ukraine.
