On June 18, 2025, the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) co-hosted a webinar titled “Investing in Ukraine’s Future: IFC Solutions for USUBC Members.” The event offered insights into IFC’s role within the World Bank Group and its support for private sector investment in Ukraine during the war and in preparation for reconstruction.
Speakers included Sacha Backes, Senior Investment Officer, MAS Europe Upstream and Advisory; Olaf Schmidt, Industry Director, MAS Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean; Oksana Varodi, Upstream and Advisory Manager, MAS Europe; Olena Voloshina, Senior Country Officer, IFC Ukraine; and Marcia Yu, Industry Manager, MAS Europe. They presented current IFC investment projects in Ukraine, shared examples of partnerships with U.S. companies in developing regions, and discussed key sectors for future engagement, including agribusiness and manufacturing.
Greg Fishman, Secretary-Treasurer of USUBC, served as moderator, with Iryna Chaika, USUBC Program Manager, leading the Q&A. The event reinforced IFC’s commitment to supporting private investment in Ukraine and opened new channels for collaboration with the USUBC business community.
