Abolition of Visas for Foreign Volunteers During Martial Law in Ukraine

June 11, 2025

A new draft law proposes scrapping the requirement for long-term Type D visas for foreigners in Ukraine while martial law is in effect. This change would simplify the legal stay for those already supporting civilians, providing aid, and saving lives. It also offers a legal path for foreigners who overstayed after entering post-24 February 2022. If adopted, it will streamline humanitarian coordination and reduce barriers for international support.
