Bayer has supported farmers since the war started and has donated over 76,000 bags of corn and OSR seeds of the Dekalb® brand to more than 4000 small farmers working in frontline regions of Ukraine.
This sowing season, Bayer, in partnership with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the All-Ukrainian Association of Communities, has distributed Dekalb® corn seeds free of charge to Ukrainian farmers in frontline and war-affected regions of Ukraine (excluding temporarily occupied territories).
Ukrainian farmers received more than 15,000 seed bags of high-quality Bayer-produced corn seeds for the 2025 sowing season, which will be used to sow at least 15 thousand hectares. The seeds were provided with all relevant quality certificates and are suitable for cultivation in various geographical zones, as Bayer allocated a large hybrid mix for this initiative.
The Bayer team is pleased to be involved in this important initiative aimed at supporting Ukrainian farmers, the agricultural sector, and Ukraine’s food security during the war.
To receive Dekalb® seeds, farmers needed to be registered in the State Agrarian Register and meet the announced criteria (cultivating between 5 and 500 hectares of land located in Donetsk, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions, filling out the appropriate application, signing it, etc.).
Farmers received the corn seeds free of charge at the location announced by the All-Ukrainian Association of Communities in their region. This association acted as a partner of this initiative and ensured the seeds were distributed to the final recipients.
The seeds have already been delivered to their final consumers – Ukrainian farmers, of whom there are as many as 663 this year!
