Mark McNamee is the Co-Founder of the Ukraine Business Network and is currently based in Kyiv. Through UBN, he connects top Ukrainian executives, industry leaders, diplomats, and government officials to support foreign investors during Ukraine’s economic recovery and future reconstruction.
In addition to this role, McNamee launched the podcast “History in the Making: The War in Ukraine”, which aims to share stories of everyday life in Ukraine while highlighting the broader geopolitical significance of the war to international audiences.
With over 20 years of global experience in political, economic, and security risk analysis, McNamee has worked and studied across the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Czech Republic, Russia (2005–2008), Brazil, and Ukraine. His academic and professional focus spans Ukraine and the CIS region, Western Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East. His analytical work has been cited by major outlets including the BBC, Harvard Business Review, Forbes, Wall Street Journal, CNBC, and Intellinews.
Before relocating to Ukraine, McNamee served at FrontierView, advising senior executives and strategy teams of leading multinational firms operating in Europe and the CIS. There, he led political, economic, financial, and security risk assessments and developed actionable forecasts to support strategic planning and business execution.
