USUBC President & CEO Irina Paliashvili Speaks at ABA International Law Conference on Rebuilding Ukraine

May 21, 2026

Irina Paliashvili, President & CEO of the US-Ukraine Business Council (USUBC), participated as a featured panelist in the session “Rebuilding Ukraine: Restoring Legal, Financial and Infrastructure Viability After the War”, held at the annual conference of the American Bar Association International Law Section. Joined by legal practitioners and policy experts from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Dentons, and the University of Virginia School of Law, the panel examined the legal and institutional frameworks needed to mobilize private capital and support Ukraine’s recovery — while the war is still ongoing.

Discussion centered on how robust legal architecture — spanning contractual enforcement, procurement transparency, judicial reform, and regulatory harmonization with EU standards — is increasingly a prerequisite for sustainable reconstruction investment, not merely a compliance afterthought. The panel underscored that Ukraine’s path toward European integration serves as a concrete anchor for governance reform and investor confidence, making the work of legal and business communities directly relevant to Ukraine’s long-term recovery and resilience.
