Mykola Lukashuk is the Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, heading one of Ukraine’s most economically significant regions – widely regarded as the industrial heart of the country. The region is home to nearly 9% of Ukraine’s population and generates over 11% of national GDP, playing a crucial role in sustaining economic activity and supporting Ukraine’s recovery. It accounts for approximately 16% of the country’s industrial output, hosts thousands of enterprises, and has welcomed more than 2,500 businesses relocated from active war zones, reinforcing its position as a key economic stronghold.

During Russia’s full-scale invasion, under Mr. Lukashuk’s leadership, the region has ensured economic continuity while providing support to internally displaced persons, restoring critical infrastructure, and maintaining stability for local communities and industry.

Mr. Lukashuk actively promotes the region as a platform for strategic investment, with a focus on high value-added manufacturing, energy resilience – including decentralized generation and renewable energy, as well as large-scale housing and rehabilitation projects driven by wartime needs, processing of critical raw materials. His approach prioritizes partnership over aid, offering investors clear rules, strong support from local authorities, and ready-to-implement projects.

Through his work, Mr. Lukashuk continues to expand international cooperation and strengthen the role of the Dnipropetrovsk region as a reliable partner in Ukraine’s long-term recovery and economic modernization.
