Oleksandr Korniyenko is a high-ranking Ukrainian statesman, reformer, and international representative currently serving as the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Elected to parliament in 2019, he has played a leading role in legislative reforms, European integration, and public administration modernization. He is a member of Ukraine’s delegation in EU accession negotiations and serves as co-chair of the NATO-Ukraine Interparliamentary Council.
Korniyenko has held multiple leadership positions in Ukraine’s political landscape, including Head of the Servant of the People political party and First Deputy Head of its parliamentary faction. He is a prominent advocate for decentralization, good governance, and youth development, and has contributed to the advancement of key reforms in judicial, anti-corruption, and electoral sectors.
A trained chemical engineer and certified psychologist and coach, Korniyenko holds a master’s degree from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and has pursued further studies in existential coaching and public administration. His academic work focuses on models of territorial organization of public authority.
Beyond Ukraine, he actively engages in global parliamentary diplomacy, having held more than 150 international meetings and official visits to over 20 countries. He leads Ukraine’s parliamentary delegations to the Inter-Parliamentary Union, ASEAN Interparliamentary Assembly, and other key platforms, promoting strategic cooperation, especially with the Global South and EU institutions.
